Narrm Camp

❶ the vision.

Now in its third year.

In 2026, around 550 incoming students came together for three days of connection, identity and belonging through the University of Melbourne’s Narrm Scholarship Program. Barreno Studio has documented the program since its first camp back in 2024, capturing how it has grown and the relationships at its heart.

This year, our coverage extended beyond the camp to include staff training, workshops, ceremonies, performances, festival activities and an AFLW-led session. We also followed Narrm Scholars returning as camp staff, showing how the program can open pathways into leadership, employment and community.

❷ the outcome.

Full coverage of Narrm Camp and its initiatives

For 2026, across four production days, our teams covered three connected parts of the program: Narrm Camp, Schools Outreach and the AFLW workshop. Working across the Parkville campus, we captured hundreds of students, overlapping activities and candid reflections from students and staff.

The finished library supports student recruitment, school presentations, staff training, internal communications and future program promotion. This included:

  • 1 Narrm Camp highlight film
  • Approximately 10 student and staff vox-pop stories
  • 1 Staff and Scholar feature film
  • 10 Schools Outreach films: 8 school-specific, 1 regional and 1 general
  • 2 full session recordings, captured with multiple cameras and clean audio
  • AFLW workshop photography, video and interviews
  • 1,400+ edited photographs
  • Captions across video deliverables

(The solution)

We partnered with Nectar Café to rebuild their brand from the ground up and lift their visibility online and off. Our approach comprised:

Brand Strategy & Identity
  • Conducted a workshop to define the cafe’s personality, audience, and unique value (community, comfort, craft).
  • Developed visual and verbal identity: refreshed logo, colour palette, typography, brand voice.
Creative Design & Collateral
  • Redesigned in-store signage, menus, packaging, and takeaway materials to reflect the new identity.
  • Created a library of high-quality assets: hero photography, lifestyle imagery, stylised typography for social.
Digital Marketing & Social Strategy
  • Launched a content calendar covering Instagram and Facebook: weekly posts, stories, promotions to engage local audience.
  • Ran targeted local-area ads to bring new visitors: “Come discover us” offers with limited-time specials.
  • Implemented simple analytics tracking: foot-traffic uplift, engagement rates, new-follower growth.
