❶ the vision.
A boy exploring faith through prayer.
Directed by Dom Lonzo, Rafael’s Prayer is a personal narrative short exploring faith, identity and the quiet tension between faith and hope. Rafael’s Prayer follows a young boy who talks with God wherever life takes him. Prayer is part of Rafael’s everyday world; not reserved for a particular place or moment, but something he carries with him.
Dom chose 16mm to make the film’s visual language feel as intimate and human as its subject. The grain, texture and organic response to light give the images a physical quality, drawing us closer to Rafael’s world. Shooting on film also calls for care at every stage: each setup and each roll of stock matters. That deliberate process suited the film’s reflective tone and shaped how we prepared to bring Dom’s vision to the screen.
Rafael's Prayer Premiering Soon
A story brought to life on 16mm.
Filmed in Melbourne on Standard 16mm, Rafael’s Prayer was captured with the care the format requires and scanned at 5K for post-production. The sound, music and colour were then shaped around the story, carrying the texture of the film through to the finished work.

❷ the outcome.
Creating worlds that represent the past, present and future of New Era.
At BEAM Studios, we built three distinct worlds to represent the past, present and future of New Era. The first drew on the brand’s sporting heritage, grounding the collection in the culture and history that shaped it. The second explored its place in contemporary streetwear, while the third looked ahead, imagining a new expression of New Era through its lifestyle apparel.
We developed each world through set design, props, styling and lighting, considering how the talent and clothing would sit within each space. Each set needed its own character, with a visual thread connecting all three. Together, these worlds became the backdrop for our photography and motion campaign, introducing the collection while carrying New Era’s roots into its next chapter..
